Highlights

Mandai Wildlife Group’s latest and fifth wildlife park, Rainforest Wild ASIA, is all about adventure.

Spread across 13 hectares, this new park has something for everyone – whether you’re part of a multi-generational family or an energetic explorer. Just remember to wear comfy shoes and bring your sense of adventure along for the ride!

The park’s wide, elevated walkways with sheltered rest stops make it super accessible for all, including families with strollers and wheelchair users. These paths offer the perfect opportunity for a leisurely stroll, where you can take in the distinct rainforest settings and spot how different animals thrive in their natural habitat.

But don’t worry, it’s not all about taking it easy. For the thrill-seekers, Rainforest Wild ASIA has loads of rugged experiences. You can wander along forest trails with fallen logs, boulders, streams, and bridges. Or if you’re looking for adrenaline-pumping experiences, you can try harnessed experiences and guided tours that let you conquer rock faces, take a freefall jump, or even go on a caving adventure.

Animals at Rainforest Wild ASIA

Rainforest Wild ASIA at Mandai Wildlife Reserve is home to 36 iconic animal species, including endangered species like the François’ langur and the Philippine spotted deer, living in spacious extensive habitats designed to protect them.

With 8 distinct zones to explore, each offering its own diverse rainforest landscapes, your adventure is full of surprises. Fun fact: nearly 7,000 Southeast Asian trees and shrubs were planted to shape the landscape, in addition to the existing protected patches of rainforest.

This adventure-based zoological park will also introduce flexible habitats for the first time. You’ll get to see animals like red dholes and babirusas featured at different times of the day in these dynamic habitats, offering an exciting chance to observe natural behaviours up close.

And don’t forget to stay tuned for Rainforest Wild Africa, the next exciting phase of this wildlife park, opening later this year! It’ll be inspired by Madagascar and afro-tropical regions, and it’s going to be incredible! You’ll be able to explore more of the multi-layered rainforest that makes Rainforest Wild ASIA so special.

  • The Karsts is one of the park’s best spots, with jagged limestone formations poking through the canopy. Inspired by Sarawak’s world-famous Mulu Caves (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and their ancient rock formations, this area feels like something straight out of an adventure movie. Look up, and you might catch primates swinging, leaping, and climbing across the rocky terrain. Feeling adventurous? You can even take on the sheer cliffs yourself with a guided via ferrata experience!
  • Down at the Forest Floor, things get even wilder. Duck under fallen trees, climb over logs, and keep an eye out for hog deer, Asian brown tortoises, and lesser mousedeer along the way. Then, head over to the Rock Cascade – home to the Malayan tiger. These majestic cats are a sight to behold as they prowl through waterfalls, streams, rocky outcrops, and clusters of trees, showing off their power and grace.
  • If you’ve ever wondered what life is like in the treetops, The Canopy is where you’ll find out. Here, you might spot Javan langurs and red-shanked douc langurs hanging out in the branches. And if you’re feeling brave, take on the Canopy Jump – where you can leap from a 13-metre or 20-metre platform. Talk about an adrenaline rush!
  • Next up, step into The Cavern – a breathtaking network of cave chambers inspired by Sarawak’s famous Mulu Caves, one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most intricate cave systems. You can take the easy route along well-lit walkways. Or venture down side paths to spot cave dwellers like racer snakes and giant black scorpions. Cool fact: the park’s design team actually worked with the Sarawak Forestry Department to recreate this zone from scratch!
  • For more amazing wildlife moments, stop by the Watering Hole – the park’s largest animal habitat. Here, you’ll see Malayan sun bears foraging in the trees and Malayan tapirs wandering the forest floor.

Before wrapping up your adventure, don’t forget to stop by Rangers Café at The Outpost. It’s the perfect spot for a quick bite. The Outpost is also home to the park’s camping ground – just in case you’re not ready for the adventure to end (more details will be released on this soon).

Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s fifth zoological park is ready to offer you an adventure like no other!
